Graphinex Mining Project
The Tagalaka Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (TAC) Board, together with NQLC and their legal consultant, met with Graphinex representatives on the 15th January 2026 to commence negotiations for the mining agreements on Esmeralda Station (the Project).
This was the first negotiation meeting, which followed on from a previous site visit in July 2025 between TAC and Graphinex where Graphinex provided information to TAC directors regarding the Project.
TAC, together with NQLC, has noted to Graphinex the importance of keeping the Tagalaka People informed about the Project negotiations and on this basis, there has been a Tagalaka People community meeting scheduled for Saturday 14 March 2026 in Croydon, depending on the weather conditions at that time, where:
Graphinex will present to the Tagalaka People on the project so Tagalaka People can be kept informed about the Project and have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions; and
then NQLC will present on the Projects potential impact on Tagalaka Peoples’ native title and cultural heritage and how these can be best managed in the agreements and there will then be a further opportunity for Tagalaka People to discuss and ask questions.
A second community meeting will be held at a date yet to be confirmed but expected late March or early April.
